Result
Enter two dates and the tool counts the days between them, expresses the gap in weeks and days and in calendar years, months and days, and counts business days. Switch to add-or-subtract mode to find the date 30, 90 or 180 days from a start date, which is what visa validity, notice periods and payment terms usually need.
By default the end date is not counted, so Monday to Tuesday is one day; turn on "inclusive" when a contract says "from the 1st to the 10th inclusive". Business days skip the two weekend days of the work week you pick: Monday to Friday, or Sunday to Thursday as in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and (before 2022) the UAE. Public holidays are not subtracted because they differ by country and year.
All arithmetic is done on whole calendar days in UTC, so daylight-saving changes cannot produce a 23-hour "day". The calendar difference steps forward by full years and months from the start date, the way HR systems count service.

- Choose "Difference between two dates" or "Add or subtract days".
- Pick the start date (or leave it empty for today) and the end date or the number of days.
- Select the work week that applies to you so business days are counted correctly.
- Read total days, weeks, the calendar breakdown and business days; the notes state whether the end date was counted.
Frequently asked questions
How many working days are there between two dates?
The tool counts every day in the range that is not one of the two weekend days you selected. It does not know public holidays, so subtract those yourself for a given country.
Should I count the end date?
For "days until" a deadline, no: from today to tomorrow is one day. For a period "from 1 to 10 inclusive" or for hotel nights versus days, turn on the inclusive toggle and the count rises by one.
How is the months figure calculated?
By stepping forward whole years and whole months from the start date and counting the remaining days, so 31 January to 1 March is 1 month and 1 day. Because months differ in length, this can differ from dividing the total days by 30.
Which countries use a Sunday to Thursday work week?
Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain use a Friday/Saturday weekend for most employers. The UAE switched to Saturday/Sunday (with a half day on Friday for government) in January 2022. Check your own employer if unsure.
