Forms are specific about pixels: the US DV lottery wants a 600 x 600 square, UK visas 600 x 750, Canada IRCC 715 x 1000, Schengen consulates 35 x 45 mm (413 x 531 at 300 dpi) and India eVisa 350 x 350. Social platforms are just as strict about aspect ratio. This resizer has those sizes as presets and lets you type any other dimensions.
Photo presets use "cover" scaling: the image is scaled so the frame is filled and the excess is cropped equally from the centre, so a portrait photo becomes a square without distortion. Screen presets (Full HD, 4K) use "contain" scaling so nothing is cropped. Exact-pixel mode can either keep the aspect ratio or stretch, and percentage mode scales proportionally.
Resizing is done with high-quality resampling on a canvas in a Web Worker. EXIF orientation is applied first, so photos taken in portrait come out the right way up.
How to use it
- Drop your photo or click to browse. HEIC from iPhone is fine; it is decoded in the browser.
- Pick a mode: a named preset, exact pixels (leave width or height at 0 to keep the ratio), or a percentage.
- Choose the output format. Use PNG if you need transparency; JPG for forms; WebP for the web.
- Click Resize. The result card shows the exact output dimensions and file size.

Frequently asked questions
Does the tool crop my face out of a visa photo?
It crops equal amounts from opposite edges to reach the target aspect ratio, so a centred face stays centred. It does not detect faces or check head size; frame the photo according to the official template before resizing.
Are the visa presets official?
They reflect the commonly published pixel sizes at the time the presets were written, but requirements change. Always check the issuing authority's page before submitting; the preset notes name the sources to check.
Can I enlarge an image?
Yes, up to 200% in percent mode or any pixel size up to 8192 px. Enlarging cannot add detail; expect softness above about 150%.
Which format keeps transparency?
PNG and WebP. Choosing JPG flattens transparent areas onto white.
