Convert PDF tables to CSV
Pull simple tables out of a PDF into CSV columns you can open in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.

Text is split into columns where the gaps between words line up down the page, and saved as CSV for Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.

How it works
Bank statements, price lists and reports often arrive as PDFs when you need the numbers in a spreadsheet. The tool reads where every word sits on the page, splits each line into cells where there is a clear gap, and lines the cells up into columns by their horizontal position across the whole page. The rows are saved as CSV, which Excel, Numbers, LibreOffice and Google Sheets open directly.
It works well on simple, text-based tables with visible gaps between columns. Merged cells, cells that wrap onto two lines and tables drawn as images need checking or a little manual clean-up. For semicolon-separated CSV (Excel in many European locales), change the delimiter.
CSV is plain text that every spreadsheet, database and script reads. For a ready-made Excel workbook, with amounts stored as numbers, a bold header row and one sheet per page, use PDF to Excel, which finds the columns the same way. Scanned statements need OCR PDF first.
Getting a clean table
- Convert one statement page first and check that the dates, descriptions and amounts land in their own columns before doing the whole file.
- Remove header and footer rows (bank logos, page numbers) in the spreadsheet after import; they become rows of their own.
- Amounts with thousands separators such as 1,250.00 are quoted in the CSV so the comma is not read as a new column.
- If Excel turns long account numbers into 1.23E+15, import the CSV with Data > From Text/CSV and set that column to Text.
How to use it
- Choose a PDF with a table.
- Pick the pages and the delimiter (comma, semicolon or tab).
- Click Convert to CSV and check the preview.
- Download the .csv and open it in your spreadsheet app.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. The file is read and processed by your browser on your device; nothing is sent to a server. The PDF engine is downloaded from this site the first time you use a tool and then runs on your device.
Why CSV and not .xlsx?
CSV opens in every spreadsheet app and is plain text you can check or import anywhere. If you want an .xlsx workbook with numbers already typed as numbers and a bold header, use PDF to Excel instead.
My columns are shifted. What can I do?
Columns are detected from gaps between words. Tables with wrapped or merged cells can shift a value into the next column; fix those cells in the spreadsheet, or extract one page at a time.
Excel shows everything in one column
Your Excel expects a different separator. Choose the semicolon delimiter and convert again, or use Data > From Text/CSV in Excel.
Does it work with scanned bank statements?
Only after OCR: run OCR PDF first so the page has real text, then convert the searchable PDF.
