Quick build asks short multiple-choice and checklist questions: your field, seniority, target regions, contact details, core competencies, and for each job a list of achievement sentences with blanks for your own numbers ("Grew portfolio sales by [X]% YoY"). It then writes a summary in the tone you pick and lays everything out. Advanced mode shows the same CV as plain text sections you can edit freely; switching between the two keeps your answers.

Three templates share one ATS-safe structure. Professional (the default) has a large name in deep blue capitals, a one-line contact strip, letter-spaced blue section headings over a thin rule, core competencies in two columns and each role with its dates right-aligned. Classic uses a serif, centred header; Modern adds an accent bar. All keep a single reading order, standard headings and real text, which is what applicant tracking systems parse.

Download a real PDF (made in your browser with pdf-lib and the open-source Carlito font, so accented names print correctly) or a Word .docx file with the same styles. Blanks you have not filled are flagged before export so a stray "[X]" never reaches an employer. Print / Save as PDF and a plain-text copy for online application forms are also there.

How to use it

  1. Choose your field and seniority, and tick the regions you are targeting.
  2. Enter your name and contact details, languages and extras such as a driving licence.
  3. Tick 8 to 12 core competencies and, for each role, the achievements that fit; fill every blank with a real number.
  4. Pick a summary tone (concise, achievement-led or leadership-led) and edit the text.
  5. Review the checklist, choose a template and download the PDF or Word file.

Frequently asked questions

PDF or Word: which should I send?

Send the PDF unless the job advert or recruiter asks for Word. The PDF keeps the layout exactly and still has real, selectable text that applicant tracking systems (ATS) read. Choose Word (.docx) when a recruiter wants to edit or reformat your CV; it uses the same styles, a tab stop for the dates and real bullet lists.

What makes a CV ATS-friendly?

One column, standard headings (Summary, Experience, Education), real text instead of images or text boxes, and consistent dates next to each role. All three templates follow those rules, and the PDF text can be selected and copied.

Should my CV be one page or two?

One page suits early careers; two pages are normal with several years of experience. The review step estimates the page count and warns above two pages.

What are the [X] blanks?

Achievement templates contain blanks such as [X]% or [N] months for your own figures. The builder highlights any blank you have not filled and warns before you export, so you can fix it or export anyway.

Can I add a photo?

Not in this version. Many employers ask for CVs without photos, and images can confuse ATS parsers.

How do I show a current job?

Tick "I work here now" in Quick build, or write "Present" as the end date in Advanced mode, for example "Mar 2021 – Present".

Is my CV uploaded anywhere?

No. The builder, the preview, the PDF and the Word file are all made in your browser; nothing you type is sent to a server. A draft is kept on your device only if you tick "Keep a draft on this device", and you can clear it by unticking the box.
