A vCard QR code on a business card, badge, email signature or slide lets people save your details to their phone in one scan instead of typing them. This tool builds a standard vCard 3.0 (RFC 2426) from the fields you fill in: name, company and job title, mobile and work phone, email, website and an optional address and note.
Commas, semicolons, backslashes and line breaks have special meaning in the vCard format and are escaped so the card imports correctly on iPhone, Android and desktop address books. Only the fields you fill in are included, which keeps the code small: fewer fields mean fewer, larger squares that scan more easily from a printed card.
You can download the QR code as PNG or SVG (vector, for print), and the same card as a .vcf file to attach to emails. Everything is generated in your browser; the details are not stored or uploaded.
How to use it
- Fill in your name and any work details you want to share.
- Add phone numbers in international format (for example +971 50 123 4567), your email and website.
- Open the address section only if you want it included, then check the preview.
- Download the PNG or SVG (and the .vcf if useful), and scan it with your phone before printing.
Frequently asked questions
What happens when someone scans it?
The phone camera recognises the contact card and offers to create a new contact with the details filled in. On iPhone and most Android phones this works from the built-in camera app.
Why vCard 3.0 and not 4.0?
Version 3.0 is the most widely supported by phone cameras and address books. Version 4.0 adds little for a business card and is not recognised by some older scanners.
The QR code looks very dense. How do I make it easier to scan?
Leave out fields people will not need (the address and note add the most characters), choose Low or Medium error correction, and print the code at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide.
Are my details stored anywhere?
No. The card and QR code are generated in your browser and disappear when you close the page, unless you download them.
